kOOii is an autonomous Sri Lanka based foundation specializing in contemporary art, with a focus on works by artists from Sri Lanka.
Founded in 2007, goal is to act as an intermediary between Sri Lankan artists, international artists and a global audience
kOOii works with established as well as upcoming visual artists. Design projects, exhibitions, provide networks, media exposure and opportunities for professional development in Sri Lanka and abroad.
kOOii hopes to enable local artists to make a decent living out of their chosen profession and get greater exposure through their network. kOOii is not a registered charity nor do they give away money. The idea is to help artists build a name and network so they can focus on their work.
kOOii is independent and raises its own funds through art sales. Despite the non-profit philosophy, they make sure to distill the global from the local.
